Speaker Bio
Megan M. Belmonte (She/Her/Hers) is an experienced arts manager who joined the staff at UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts (CTSA) in January 2012 when she began a strategic outreach effort to the Orange County community, growing participation in the school’s outreach programs three fold. As the Director of Outreach Programs at CTSA, Belmonte connects CTSA with the community in ways that transform lives, opening rehearsals to groups, coordinating workshops and intensives, supporting faculty and student groups in their outreach efforts, and sending faculty and students into the community to teach the arts. Prior to beginning her position at UC Irvine, Megan completed her graduate degree in Arts Management at Claremont Graduate University. Belmonte held positions in cultural hubs including in the Cultural Affairs unit at the City of West Hollywood where she was integral in coalition building and growing support for the arts at the municipal level; at the Arts Council for Long Beach where Megan united for-profit business leaders, nonprofit arts organizations, and city officials to develop programming for The Collaborative gallery; and with the Pasadena Arts Council (now Fulcrum Arts) where Belmonte managed scholarship and fiscal sponsorship programs, coordinated guerilla marketing efforts, and produced large-scale cultural arts festivals. Megan completed her undergraduate degree in Art History at Occidental College where she was a three year captain and a four year starter on the Women’s Soccer Team.
